I have a subject this four-month period*, called "graphic procedures". We have to take ANY subject and draw 70 sketches around it, and the aim is to use different media. I've just started, as you can see, using the most traditinal ones: watercolor, pencil, ink, conté crayons, etc.
I thought drawing portraits of Stephen Colbert would be fun, because it's something I would have never ever chosen as a basis for a class work before. It IS quite fun, mind you. And it's basically painting portraits, a genre I rarely touch, so it's good to practice.
It's just that trying to be funny is not like me at all. But I wanted something I could just draw, without having to stop and think, because I tend to overthink drawings very badly. And I had just discovered that Stephen Colbert is my hero when I started, so well, why not do it?
When I finish I'll bind all drawings as a small book. The drawings are all 25x18cm.
*Seriously? Why can't you just say "quatrimester"? "Four month period" sounds gross.
